Railway Station

                       Thalassery Railway Station is one of the most important railway station in Shoranur-Manglore section of the Southern Railway. The station code of Thalassery Railway Station is TLY. It is an 'A' Class railway station. It operates under Palakkad Railway Division. Though no trains originates from this station, trains halting at this station connects Thalassery town to various cities of India like Thiruvanathapuram, Cochin, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Calicut, Coimbatore, New Delhi, Manglore, Pune, Jaipur,Jammu Tawi, Okha and many more.One of the best ways to reach Thalassery from Mumbai or Goa is to take the Konkan Railway train. The train ride is renowned for the breathtaking scenery and the natural beauty of the terrain.

               The station has 2 platforms and 3 tracks. Train Ticket counter is located in Platform No. 02. Thalassery Railway Station once had goods transportation facility, which is now discontinued and moved to Dharmadam Railway Station. The road which connects to Thalassery Railway Station is known as Goodshed  Road, which is now often referred  as New Railway Station Road. Dharmadam and Jagannath Temple railway stations are the neighborhood railway stations to Thalassery railway station. Ticket reservation counter, Parcel booking center,food stalls and rest room facilities are available in Thalassery railway

station. And also bus stand, autorickshaw stand and taxi cab stand are very close to railway station.Online ticket booking facility is available now. You can book tickets online through the website https://www.irctc.co.in/

                                      Kerala Government proposed a new railway line connecting from Thalassery to Mysore via Wayanad and  the verdant forests of South Kodagu. The proposed railway line passes through nearly 84 km of thick forests covering 49 km in Kerala and 35 km in Karnataka. The line will be touching parts of the wild life sanctuaries like Kottiyoor , wayanad  and  Bandipur. But Thalassery-Mysore line project has run into opposition from environmentalists and people of Kodagu district. Since the Karnataka Government has not given its consent, State Government has clarified that project has not approved yet.
